Repeal the 1911 Apportionment Act. This law, which should have been an amendment, forces me to attempt to represent around 725,000 people instead of the 30,000-50,000 that our founding fathers had put in place. This would give us a Representative in Washington, Indiana for Daviess and Martin Counties. This is what the Founding Fathers had instructed us to have in the beginning of the Constitution.
End Gerrymandering and have districts drawn as square as possible.
We need government ran primaries where anyone who wants to run, can run. There should be only a simple fee and very simple paperwork required to run for U.S. House, U.S. Senate and President of the United States of America. Roughly $2000 for a House seat, $4000 for Senate and $8000 for President. This would only get the candidate a page on the official government website. Then in June, all across the nation we begin weeding out the candidates through mandatory debates and forums that will allow everyone to participate. After all, that is what freedom of speech is about. Voters will be able to choose their two favorite candidates in each race. This is a notch better than Ranked Choice Voting.
We need standard voting machine across the country that will take in a hard copy of your vote with a fingerprint or retinal scan to determine who is voting. The machine will read the card, tally the vote and print out a receipt of how you voted. This should all be done by our military, who every one respects, and a group of observers from local communities. Anyone should be able to watch the entire process from start to finish.
One time voter registration with thumbprint or retinal scan and never register again!
The Electoral College needs either changed to proportional or eliminated.
We need to allow Americans the ability to reject a bill that is moving through congress via the internet. Just a simple approval process that will give people an amazing amount of power!
